Music icon Sir Elton John goes from Rocket Man to Pocket Man as the face of retirement advice ads.
The singer, 75, has shot US commercials with Alliance for Lifetime Income, the sponsors of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Elton – who is attending tomorrow’s Oscars in Los Angeles with husband David Furnish – is encouraging fans to plan for their retirement years.
He tells them, “You and I have walked this Yellow Brick Road together for decades and I want to do what I can to make sure what my fans expect is as fulfilling as possible.”
“It has always been important to me to take a stand for human dignity at every stage of life. Securing tomorrow is something we all deserve.
Ironically, Elton said in his hit, Your Song, “I don’t have a lot of money, but damn if I had…”
He certainly has a lot now.
His tour tickets cost up to £1,500, earning him £830million.
Elton now plans to cut back on his job to spend more time with his sons Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.
His UK leg of the tour will end in style at Glastonbury in June.
