Shakira thinks ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’ felt like Depeche Mode

Shakira’s Viral Hit Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53′ had an impression of Depeche Mode which reminded him of the group.

During an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap explained that he first pitched two potential beats for their collaboration when he entered the studio with Shakira.

The Colombian singer went on to explain how she was instantly drawn to one of the instrumentals. “It reminded me of Depeche Mode,” she said.

“If you listen [‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’], it has a bit of that cold, dark undertone. I like Depeche Mode. These are my favorites,” she continued.

“I usually have this physical, visceral reaction to the music. If you see me take two steps, things are not going well” the hips don’t lie the singer added.

“I know when a song is working because I suddenly start moving. This usually results in my hips moving.

While talking about the massive success of her song, she expressed her gratitude.

“I’m waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me from this dream. It’s amazing,” she said.

She continued, “People really connect with music when it’s real, authentic and comes from a real place. The song has become an anthem for so many women. I had a really tough year after. My breakup and writing this song was so important to me. It’s a way to channel my emotions.
