Priyanka Chopra got emotional after someone recently shamed her.
“Someone told me yesterday that I wasn’t sample size,” the 40-year-old actress revealed at a South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival event on Friday, per Folks.
“I was hurt and discussed it with my family and cried to my husband [Nick Jonas]and my team, and I felt really bad about not being part of the sample size, and that’s a problem.
Chopra shared that a size 2 is considered a sample size in Hollywood.
The mother of one, however, noted that it was not the first time he had been told something “hard to hear” throughout his career.
“In my job, the pressure is so intense that you can’t really show the cracks in your armor,” the ‘Baywatch’ star explained during a conversation with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke.
She then added that people had said the “most nasty and nasty things” about her and her family, including her and Jonas’ one-year-old daughter, Malti.
“I think sometimes people forget you’re even human,” Chopra continued. “And these pressures, it is inexplicable.
“I can’t explain what it feels like to sit on your couch and feel the world coming your way because people have forgotten you’re human.”

Despite the negativity, the ‘Citadel’ actress says she remains surrounded by people who love and care about her and aren’t focused on what she brings to the table or what she can. do for them.
“It doesn’t have to be a room full of people – I can count them on my hands,” she added.
Chopra, who won Miss World in 2000, has previously spoken out about defying society’s beauty standards.
In her 2021 memoir ‘Unfinished’, the new mum revealed she was once told to do more plastic surgery to ‘fix’ her ‘proportions’ after a botched nose job she had as a teenager had left her “devastated and hopeless”.
“Now, when I look in the mirror, I am no longer surprised; Made peace with this slightly different me,” she wrote. “I’m like everyone else: I look in the mirror and think maybe I can lose some weight; I think I can train a little more.
“But I’m also happy. It’s my face. It’s my body. I may have flaws, but I am me.
Chopra married Jonas, 30, in 2018 in an extravagant three-day affair in India.
In January, the “Quantico” alum and member of the Jonas Brothers announced on social media that they had secretly welcomed Malti through a surrogate.
