“‘Hellions’ was a fun throwback to some of our more brutal and fast-paced roots, closer to our earlier material,” Fit For An Autopsy said. “This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hellthe record that we all collectively feel really kicked things into motion for the band.
“It was great to channel the energy and excitement we had back then into our music in 2023. It’s natural for bands to evolve and expand their sound over time, but we never forgot where we are from so this one is for those who have been there since day one!
“Even before we have completed the work on Depression sessions we knew a longtime friendship had been forged between Thy Art Is Murder and Fit For An Autopsy, and that we had to do another variation of the project,” Thy Art Is Murder and Fit For An Autopsy say of the split.
“The assault sessions The concept was born almost immediately after the completion of the first iteration, but it took many years to finally find the time to record and release it amid both bands’ chaotic touring and musical release schedules. We wanted to bring things back to some of our favorite inspirations for writing and performing heavy, aggressive music this time around, encapsulating the tone of the EP’s title. We hope everyone will enjoy!
